Do you remember the stories that were told you when you were a child? Do you remember your delights, fears and dissolving figures of characters? And then you start drawing; you draw what impressed you the most. Everybody has memories like these, and everybody remembers different stories: somebody remembers fairy tales, somebody - "The tree musketries"... But children from Almaty Community Center will remember the stories told this summer by Larissa Poltavskaya - the stories from Torah. The stories were about creation of the world and the first people, about forefathers and Exodus from Egypt. Children drawings reflecting them were collected in series, children stories about those events were added to them, and as a result we got something absolutely new and we called it "Living Torah".
"My Little Torah" is living book about the days of Creation of the world, where children retell and illustrate the Holy Book.

The Center of Children Art presented "The Living Book" at the Festival. Young connoisseurs of Tradition scored their pictures for sound, and the pictures were shown on a big screen. It is very good that our children have a chance to join to the ancient culture of Jewish people from little up. The adults will remember for a long time the answer of a six years old child who was asked: "Why do you study Torah?" The answer was simple:" Just imagine, I am walking in Israel and meet a rabbi. He is asking me: "What do you know about Jewish people?" And I will answer: " Torah!"
