A
meeting devoted to the fate of a writer Anatoly Kuznetsov and his book
"Babiy Yar" has been held in the Kokshetau branch of the Republican
Jewish Library.
The author was born in Kiev. When he was 14 he became a witness
of cruel annihilation of Jews in Babiy Yar. He wrote down to a copy book
everything he saw and heard there.
In 60s the copy book turned to a novel, but it was published
in abridgement. Then the publication was forbidden at all. Thus, Anatoly
was captured by the state anti-Semitism.
But the author managed to preserve the first unpublished
variant of the book. He photographed all pages and took them abroad.
It helped Anatoly to publish a new uncensored book. "Finally
it's what I wrote", - he said about the new edition of "Babiy
Yar".
