Today members of Jewish Community gathered in Hesed "Polina" to honor the memory of Simon Wiesenthal. Mourning meeting opened the director of Jewish Republican Library, Eugenia Karyakina. She told about contribution of "hunter for Nazi murderers", fighter with anti-Semitism and racial prejudices to improving of the moral climate on the planet. The tears were shining on people’s eyes. Many of coming to mourning meeting experienced Holocaust themselves Wiesenthal’s action consider the fair judgment.
Then coordinator of "Joint" Committee in Central Asia, being in Kazakhstan with official call, took a word.
He acted on behalf of six millions persons, who could not more save themselves – told Max Wiesel addressing the Community – He didn’t manage to bring to response only one criminal, doctor Mengele, "angel of death" of Oswiencim. Mengele died in his bed in South America. Austria recognized his role in detecting the Nazi crimes only some ten years later.
On behalf of the Community, President of "Mitsva" Association, Alexander Baron lighted a funeral candle. He told that the Jews of Kazakhstan grieve over Simon Wiesenthal, a man called as a conscience of Holocaust.
