Alla Gafurova, the host o0f literary room in Kostanay Hesed met friends again. The issue of the meeting was creation of wonderful Soviet writer Lev Kassil. This year admirers of immortal "Conduit and Shvambraniya" celebrated 100th anniversary of writer’s birthday.
"It is not worth to umbrage at the reader, if he doesn’t learn author’s surname, - wrote in autobiography Lev Kassil - What a sense in surname?.. It is more important for reader to remember the book’s name.
Once, expecting the beginning of cinema show, was sitting on the bench near one of the crossroads of big path in Capital Gorky Park. I was sitting and reading newspaper. The sun shone behind the back. And suddenly I saw two shadows. One was long another was a bit shorter. Not looking back I invited them:
- Why are you concealing there at the back seat. Come from front stairs. Two schoolgirls appeared in front of me. The short one told:
- Hello, we know you.
- Well, very well! Where do you know me from? Then they suddenly confused, apparently they forgot how to glorify me.
- You are … - murmured the tall one. - You are Conduit. Çäðàâñòâóéòå. Ìû âàñ çíàåì.
- The short girl tugged her at her skirt and hastily corrected: - Lev Conduit!
And how much I could hear on the meetings somewhere in schools:
- Hello, Lev Shvambranytch!
Lev Kassil’s name is good well-known for middle-aged generation, exactly for pupils of 50th - 60th. And they came to listen about the life of wonderful writer. Listening to the reporter each partisipance of the meeting could go back to his youth and childhood.
