The second year running, autumn, Astana Hesed represents to capital Community Festival of Jewish Book. This year the Festival again began from city tour along Astana. At first visitors of CFJB by bus have examined "old city ", where lived and live many clients of Hesed, evacuated once from Ukraine and Byelorussia. Such, as Abraham Olkhovsky, Leo Vainberger, Faina Gorodetzkaya and others.
Also excursion visited such places, as Square for Warriors of Afghanistan, Monument to victims of Stalin reprisals, monument of the Defender of the Motherland. Between stops, guide told to us about life and biography of such known writers, as Isaac Bashevis Zinger, Sholom Aleikhem, Mendel Moikher Sforim, and Ephraim Sevella.
The huge impression on the participants of trip was made by recently opened House of Friendship "Pyramid". CFJB participants stopped and at the main residence of the president "Ak-Orda", at "Bayterek" - centre of new city. Certainly, the important moment became a stop at Synagogue "Beyt Rachel ". In quality of "final station" the Presidential Cultural Centre was chosen, in which the City Library is located, in it and the exhibition of the Jewish book was developed!
