On February 10, in Almaty Philharmonic Concert Hall a concert for a wide public in memory of the wonderful pianist, honored artist of Kazakhstan SSR Eva Benediktovna Kogan took place. At the concert there were pianist’s students, colleagues, and art lovers. Piano part was performed by a solo artist of the Kazakh State Philharmony named after Zhambyl Gulzhan Uzenbayeva. In the eighties, Gulzhan was a student of the conservatory and took lessons from Professor Eva Kogan. Music by Haidn, Beethoven, Brahms, Rakhmaninov, Ravel, and author performance of Prelude by Gulzhan Uzenbayeva was played.
Just recently, in December, another concert in memory of Eva Kogan took place in the Kazakh National Conservatory. It was a full house concert and all members of the Special Piano Chair were on the stage. Young musicians performed along with maestros. It was a very successful concert. It was an important occasion to recall that Eva Kogan was one of originators of the country’s music development. She was the first piano performer of Kazakhstani composers’ music.
