Children and Youth Art
"FREILEHE KINDER"

The 6th Festival "FREILEHE KINDER" is held for theater and choreographic groups and individual performers from Jewish communities and Jewish organizations of the Central-Asian region. The Festival is designed to implement for program of developing children and youth leadership, Jewish art.
The Topic of the upcoming Festival "Welcome to Israel!" determines certain rules including performing a dance or a song belonging to one of sub-ethnic groups living in Israel and providing performances in Russian, English, and Kazakh languages. To prepare for the festival there will be a number of additional classes organized to make participants aware of different directions of Jewish culture, and consequently of Jewish history as a whole, and Jewish history in Kazakhstan.
"FREILEHE KINDER" will be a result of this work, an interesting and bright "examination" that children will look forward to getting ready for and taking every year!

FESTIVAL GOALS
• Popularize Jewish art
• Promote development of youth leadership
• Develop Jewish community life in the Central Asia region
• Breed respect for history and culture of Jewish people
• Improve professional skills of employees of Jewish community centers and organizations in Kazakhstan
• Strengthen inter community cooperation
• Develop Jewish self identification through learning about sub-ethnic Jewish culture, way of life, costumes, and language peculiarities
FESTIVAL OBJECTIVES
• Expand and update a database of talented Jewish children and youths to organize further work with them
• Identify and support talented groups and individual performers, create new projects on this basis, develop musical professional skills and performers’ self identification in all genres of Jewish art
• Deepen and develop teaching experience of Jewish organizations’ employees
• Create conditions for training professionals capable of doing community work related to art
• Create on-site working groups capable to plan, organize, and conduct training to implement Festival ideas
• Develop experience for conducting large inter community events for further integration of Jewish life in the region
• Organize master-classes for Festival participants and teachers working in Jewish communities
• Create mutual projects according to indentified interests of Festival participants

FESTIVAL CONDITIONS
Festival participants will be provided with a sound and light equipment. Organizational committee will cover costs incurred by Festival participants in Karaganda (accommodation and meals) during the days of the Festival. Transportation is provided only for groups of participants and only in the framework of the Festival timetable including transportation to rehearsals, concerts, hotel, and train station transfers. Participants are responsible for paying their round trip travel costs.
Audio records should be of good quality and recorded on a mini-CD.
