In the day center of Shymkent Hesed there were Hanukkah events. In the event of Women Club there were more than twenty persons – all of them have come to take pleasure in the holiday, to feel a part of the Jewish community and to like ancient, but always modern history of Hanukkah.

The permanent leader, the participant of the project "Shoresh" and the Judaism expert Nikolay Atran who has been awarded in the quiz "From time immemorial" this year, has told about historical, cultural and traditional value of the holiday and as has given digression in various Hanukkah customs. Certainly, Hanukkah celebrating couldn't take place without the main ritual part: solemn lit of candles.

Also special Hanukkah Shabbat has taken place special, where 18 persons – clients of Hesed have come. Boris Shamuelov, the teacher of tradition told story and historical, moral and other lessons of Hanukkah and also read the week chapter of a Torah.

Certainly, the holiday is not a holiday without the covered table on which there were dishes connected with a holiday, such as latkes and donuts. All who was on both holidays have taken great pleasure and have more deeply learned traditions of the Jewish people.
