in Community and many other cultural events of the city. The audience loves
dances and songs performed by the girls because every girl has something that
called Jewish soul.
The
most popular item of their program is potpourri of Jewish National songs. The
repertoire of the ensemble started from it and the audience always rapturously
accept it. A storm of applause causes by "Ose Shalom", Ba shana ha
baa", "Hava Nagila" and many other songs and dances.
Usually the members of the ensemble sing in Hebrew; it seems closer
for them than Yuddish. They have been studying Hebrew for more than 2 years.
But one day the members of the ensemble decided to make a gift for their grandparents.
And oon Purim they sang a song in Yuddish. The name of the song is "Ba
mir bistu shein"; it is one of the most popular Jewish songs. And it was
the right choice and the best providence of was the audience that encored the
ensemble several times.
The "veteran" of the ensemble Tatyana Nazarova has been
madrikha for the last 2 years. She is an informal leader and a good friend for
all participants. She is a very talented person; she can sing very well. When
she sings "Amen" everybody listens to her with a great pleasure. And
all the audience sings the refrain of the song "Yerushalaim shel zahav"
which is the second anthem of Israel.
The musical ensemble "Atikva" is a kind of island of
Jewish culture in the city. It is a very good thing that more and more people
