For the people with limited mobility or disability there are special
classes, regularly given in the Day Center of Hesed Polina. They are transported
to Hesed and back home by a minibus.
People
who never met each other before united in groups according to their interests.
They always looking forward to next meetings, make postcards for their friends,
if they for some reason skip classes.
For instance, Rebecca was sick and her group prepared a postcard
for her and wished her to be healthy, wrote a poem and sent all this with a
necessary medicine. Rebecca was really happy to receive it.
The atmosphere inside the groups is very warm and friendly.
People make postcards and draw pictures with a great pleasure;
during Pesach they did them a lot. There were classes dedicated to Pesach tradition
and to Seder.
On Memorial Day of Holocaust Victims clients watched the movie
"The Schindler list".
Shabbat for the clients has been organized since January 2001. They learn about
Shabbat traditions and watch video about Shabbat in Israel.
And in addition all groups of clients have consultations on remedial
gymnastic and classes as well.
Also there is a fancywork club.
Volunteers take an active part in the Day Center Program. Thus,
Natalya Kats reads lectures on traditions and the history of Jewish people.
438 clients visited the Day Center since the beginning of the year.
