Our library got a new wonderful book "The way to Zion.
Modern Zionism and the World Jewry", which was presented by its authors
Dmitriy Shchiglik and Daniel Golubev to Alexander Baron, the President
of "Mitsva" Association "For all Jews in Kazakhstan with
brotherly love".
Many readers had time to read it, to participate in discussion
of the topical problems, described in the book. The authors shares their
modern point of view (the book was written in 2002) on the history of
Zionism, the problem of Anti-Semitism, the role Jews play in the World
and significance of the State of Israel for the World Jewry. A special
emphasis was given to the tragedy of 11 September 2002.
Dmitriy Shchiglik and Daniel Golubev arrived into conclusion
that the establishment of the State of Israel in spite of its importance
did not lead to solution of "Jewish problem" because Anti-Semitism
still exists; therefore the risk of new Holocaust exists as well.
That is why it is necessary to renew Zionism as a political
movement aimed at security and prosperity of the State of Israel and Jewish
people. At the end of the book author deeply analyzed the most important
constituent parts of the modern Zionism.
I would like to note clear statement and excellent language
of the book.
The book "The way to Zion" is very interesting
to read; it gives a pleasure of perception even it tells about many sad
things.
