Genrietta
Moiseyevna Fix came to Karaganda after Karlag camp. She graduated from Russian
class of Jewish High School in Riga, Latvia, and after that moved to Birobidzhan,
Jewish autonomic region. In Stalin's time when mass repressions started Genrietta
Moiseyevna was saved by miracle but as a "national enemy" and a "spy
accomplice" was sent to Karlag. Since 1938 she tended sheep. They said
she was the best shepherd. Her optimistic nature did not let her break.
Now she is almost 93, and she is very conversable and attentive.
She still takes care of her small apartment; it looks really clean and nice.
Genrietta Moiseyevna likes keeping her place in perfect order.
