Youth Club of JCC of Petropavlovsk City was established in June
2001; and now there are 20 children between 4-18 in it. They celebrate Shabbat
according to Jewish tradition every Friday: light candles, pray, sing Shabbat
songs.
Children also prepare different holidays and write scenarios for
them. For example, they made very interesting the celebration of Tu-bi Shvat
and Independence Day of Israel. Holocaust and The Memory Day of Israeli Heroes
made them think more about the Jewish history.
On
1 June - the Day of the Protection of Children Youth Club went outside
the city to celebrate an unusual Shabbat. After the ceremony of candle lightening
children and adults sang Jewish songs and played outdoor games. Also there was
a quiz about the history and tradition of Jewish people. They spent 5 hours
in fresh air and were full of energy, besides this time united them.
There are many children who want to study in art studio, and they
patiently wait for their teacher to come. While waiting they are studying an
unusual Jewish dance.
