I repeat to myself again and again that our children are very talented,
I know it is a truism, every teacher and parent know that. But look at them
playing a pretty difficult play "My father's Tahlit". Can you feel
their enthusiasm and cheerfulness? They are confident and precised like real
professionals and they talk to the puppets as to old understanding friends…and
suddenly you start to believe in the wisdom of the self-made puppets.

The Puppet show |
Perhaps, their confidence is very deceptive. I was not easy to
organize everything, and now the actors are waiting for the first applause…for
many of them they are the first in their lives. And it is a deserved reward
for their hard work. They worked very hard for the whole summer under the direction
of Irina Zimina in Almaty Jewish Community Center. Children studied poems and
songs, studied how to work with puppets, how treat them as equal partners and
studied stage enunciation. 25 children participated in the performance and all
puppets were self-made.
The success of the performance inspired both actors and teachers.
Now the performance is included in Sukkoth program. Surely they will have "excellent"
marks again!
