Translating from Hebrew Hesed means charity, concern
for people. Centuries-old Jewish tradition supposes community responsibility
of Jewish for each other and voluntary work for the welfare of the Mission.

Financially Heseds are supported by the "Joint"
organization, and they provide social assistance to Jewish population in emergency
situations, stimulate the rebirth of Jewish Community, work on promotion of
physical, psychological and moral rehabilitation of socially unprotected groups
of Jewish people.
Heseds work in all countries of FSU. In Kazakhstan
the largest is Hesed Polina
in Almaty. Also in the Republic of Kazakhstan work seven more branches.
