Lidiya Tsodikovna Kazakevitch, Kostanay
|
Lidiya
Kazakevich is a heaven-born journalist. Her parents were
evacuated from Moscow; she graduated from Kazan University and since 1959
has been working in Kostanay newspaper. Her articles always cover the
most important moral and social issues. Though on pension now, she keeps
publishing her articles in the newspaper, and editing "Remembrance
Book" - memories of WWII participants. When the Jewish Cultural
Center was founded in Kostanay, she became one of the most active members;
and when Hesed started she helped to gather and analyze questionnaires,
prepare lists of clients, and make up food packages. In January 2003 she
became the head of the women's club. Its members come to the meetings
with pleasure, because the most interesting and necessary issues are discussed
and learnt there - the role of women in the family, traditions and
holiday practices, the meaning of Shabbat in the Jewish life, flower-growing
etc. By the way, there is no meeting without Lidiya's tasty pies and cakes.
She also likes to sew and knit… and she is our constant reporter. All
articles about celebrations, literature and music clubs, Hesed activities
belong to her. We wish her long life and sound health!
