The
phone in the editorial office has called. We were told that children from
the autumn camp at "Rimon" JCC were going to the library. We
are taking the camera and rushing to the next doorway. How great it is
that we all live under the same roof!
We are entering the library. Children are already here. Eugenia Borisovna
is reading something from Georgy Oster's books. It is also interesting
for me, but I am being here on business. What kind of business? Wait a
minute and you will find it out.
Half an hour ago I was just like all other guys, but now I am being a
young reporter. This change happened after the phone call I wrote about.
Having talked with somebody on the phone, Galya (she works on the site)
gave me a notebook and sent me to my first mission. My task is to write
an article for www.mitsva.kz. To tell the truth, I made no resistance,
because at Eugenia Borisovna's it is always interesting.
As soon as children saw us, they cheered up and wanted to be photographed.
Girls started smartening themselves up, boys grasped books - they think
it makes them look adult. Everybody is waiting while the photographer
is tuning the camera.
I think we have spoiled everything! Children have forgotten that one must
keep silent in a library. Or did they take Oster's "Bad Advice"
too serious? Just like my brother Yurka! They are about to make a party
write over here.
- Guys, let's read the story till the end - says Eugenia Borisovna in
a calm voice. How can she always be so kind and patient?
- No, let's better tell anecdotes! - Offers one of the girls. Everybody
is noisy again and Eugenia Borisovna laughs.
- I am first, then - she says, and starts telling "Mazl and Shlimazl"
parable in different voices. Children are laughing loudly, though nobody
understands that it is not an anecdote.
It was very interesting. Nobody, even I, noticed how the photographer
left. But it is all right, a reporter has to know many things, including
fairy-tales.
