When Hesed "Polina" client Valentina Brailovskaya was
82, Mazal Tov children - Fima, Artyom, and Dasha, and me, the head of the
program went to congratulate her at home.
The teacher of German, Valentina Brailovskaya, met the children
with delight. They also were glad to visit the merry and kind granny. Nobody
felt shy or embarrassed. Kindness, respect, and love filled the atmosphere.
It was the time for presents. The children went out to the center
of the room, and a small performance began. Dasha was reciting poems, Fima was
singing songs, Artyom was trying to dance, but the only thing he could do was
crawling (he is only 2 years old).
Valentina returned the favour. She recited a poem in German and
translated it into Russian. Then like a professional illusionist she took out
a big ice cream. The children applauded the tasty trick.
Evening came and we had to go home. Of course, nobody wanted to
leave.
"She's my granny now!" declare Artyom at the door.
"Can we come again?" asked Dasha.
Valentina was moved. Her only answer was folding the children tight
in her arms.
