DISTANCE AND TIME DIFFERENCE ARE NOT OBSTACLES ANYMORE

"Mitsva" Association of Kazakhstan has presented the second online video conference Almaty - New York. The topic was "The History of Development of Jewish Organizations in America". The conference was conducted by the Chairman of WCRJ Coordinating Board Michael Nemirovsky (the USA) and the President of "Mitsva" Association Alexandr Baron (Kazakhstan).

A lot of community members of all ages and professions gathered to listen about the history and role of the Jewish organizations in the USA. Distance and time difference were not an obstacle between the presenter and the audience.

"The main thing we achieve through such meetings is closer contacts between the Jewish communities of the world", said Alexandr Baron.

The online video conference Almaty - New York "The History of Development of Jewish Organizations in America" is a continuation of the online lecture "Way to Zion" presented on July 25, 2003. That meeting attracted serious attention of the Jewish mass media - "Russian Radio" New York, www.rujen.org , www.eajc.org , www.jewish.ru.

Online video conferences are replacing expensive TV bridges. They do not require many facilities - computer, web-camera, Internet. The Jewish community is proud of having a project that gives its members a new way of communication to reestablish contacts and rejoin families.

It is important that such conferences are available for most of the world Russian Jewish communities. They solve many issues at once  - arrange a meeting with interesting people from faraway, establish closer connection between the Jews all over the world, save means and time wasted for traveling.

The next online meeting with Michael Nemirovsky is planned to be devoted to genealogy and history of Jewish families.
