soiree dedicated to life and works of the world famous literary man Josef
Brodsky was held in Astana yesterday.
By invitation of the Hesed and JCC Brodsky's former co-student
Altynshah Zhaganova took part in the meeting.
 She
shared her memories about the poet and read some of his early unpublished
poems. In conclusion she answered the audience's questions.
In thanks for the priceless story the Astana Jewry presented
Altynshah with Brodsky's series of essays "Less Than One" acknowledged
as the best critical book in the USA in 1986.
