THEY HAVE GROWN UP SO QUICKLY

"Tau-Samal" mountain rest home has welcomed a noisy crowd of the family club members. It the second time that they come there to become a small Jewish borough where everybody lives in accordance with the Tradition and family values.

Shabbat celebration, lectures on the subject of "Yiddishkait", competitions, art and dancing lessons, choir singing, swimming and bodily exercises - that is not the complete list of what they were doing. But the main event both for the children and their parents was Bar-Mitsva and Bat-Mitsva. "Our children have grown up so quickly!" sighed the parents and grandparents when preparing to the ceremony.

In order to prove their right to be called "the son or daughter of commandment", the teenagers had to show their knowledge of the Torah. Then each of the candidates made a gift to the guests - songs in Hebrew and in Yiddish, traditional freilechs, paintings and poems.

The President of "Mitsva" Association Alexandr Baron congratulated the teenagers on behalf of JDC and Kazakhstani Jewish Community. The guests of the festival were also the "Sokhnut" representative Shlomo Azarov, the director of Hesed "Polina" Natalya Dorman, and the chief editor of "Davar" newspaper Ludmila Varshavskaya. Besides for congratulations, smiles, and cheers, the teenagers received the main Jewish book - the Torah. They took it with slightly shaking hands and promised never to part with the Torah.

The family club has become a year older, and the children have grown up together with it. Brought up in accordance with the Tradition, they have became a reliable support for the elderly people, and an example for the younger children. The firm connection between the generations still keeps the Jewish people.
