During the first month of work Hesed "Faina" employees
felt need of a children's program. But it was not easy to realize it. Our dream
came true in summer 2002. Children's creative center "Feigalah" opened
in Ust-Kamenogorsk on summer holidays.
A group of talented teenagers was selected to study in the center.
Their curriculum includes the lessons of Hebrew, music, arts, and Jewish Tradition.
Today the center is eight months old. Eight month since a new world
opened for children of Ust-Kamenogorsk Jewish community.
Hesed volunteer Larissa Martynova conducts lessons of fine arts.
She is glad to share her knowledge with children, and they are happy to use
brushes, colours, and crayons. Every child tries to create something on his
own. And the subjects are not typical for their age. They draw everything they
find out about Jewish history and traditions.
After intensive efforts the children are pleased to play music games
and to sing Jewish songs. In charge of music is Elena Levina.
The most fascinating are lessons of Hebrew. The teacher Natalya
Lebedeva chose the most effective form of study - by playing.
Two hours pass very quickly. Children have time to rest, to get
new information, and to have a walk in the park. We hope that children's laughter
will never cease here, and in future the children will be at the head of the
center.
