Constant readers of "Davar" newspaper know the favourite
children's page - "Boker Tov". "The Torah Test" was
published on the page in three numbers, and though it was a hard nut to crack,
there proved to be experts in the Torah.
Coordinator of children's programs in "Rimon" JCC Larissa
Poltavskaya helped to determine the winner. She was the first to read Aliya
Elyubayeva's letter.
"When opening an envelope I tried to see a person behind
the lines, handwriting, and drawings", Larissa Poltavskaya remembers,
"Of course, I know many children personally, but…"
"Aliya's letter caught my eye at once. No doubt, the girl
was the main candidate for the first prize. In her eight years she doesn't just
know what she is talking about, but she clearly understands it."
The winners were awarded prizes on February 25 in the JCC hall.
Aliya Elyubayeva was awarded the title of expert in the Torah and received a
book "Children's Hagada", colouring album "Hanukah" and
a pack of sweets.
"We are happy for you, Aliya, but we can't understand why
you aren't still in our Children's Creative Center?" said Rufa Boguslavskaya
and children cheered her invitation.
Yulya Sidorenko, Misha Boguslavsky, Dima Ossinin, Andrey Smazhony,
Masha Zhuravlyova were awarded Jewish books that will help them to win the next
competition. Well, good luck, and we will think out new tests. The main thing
is that it is interesting for you!
