 Hesed
"Polina" has a tradition - to celebrate its members' birthdays
every month. This time the festival was held in early June. Many people came
to Hesed, among them Abram Finkel (93 years old), Iosif Baron (90 years old),
Arkady Hochman (88 years old) and others.
The director of Hesed "Polina" Natalya Dorman was the
first one to congratulate the clients. "Nehama" vocal ensemble sang
"Jerusalem of Gold" for them.
The head of Volunteers program Inna Enina congratulated the volunteers
who had birthdays in June. She wished them to live till 120 and remain in Hesed
as long as possible. The audience applauded to library and soup kitchen volunteers.
Not to let the guests be bored, the organizers prepared a merry
intellectual quiz for them. It concluded with reciting favourite poems of the
Jewish authors. Everybody received small prizes.
The guests rejoiced at the celebration with all their heart. They
laughed, applauded, cheered, and sang together with the vocal ensemble. They
left Hesed happy, because they were not alone on their holiday - their
community, their FAMILY congratulated them.
