"Youth
is not a merit, but to live to extreme old age and to be of use for somebody -
it is a miracle for which one should strain every nerve!"
Johann
Goethe
It is a kind of person I want to tell about, to tell the whole world,
to tell those, who hasn't heard her brilliant lectures: "Emma Lazarus",
"Deborah - Israel's mother", "Golda Meir" - and
those, who hasn't met her in person.
Candidate of economical science, senior lecturer, historian-orientalist,
participant of WWII, kind, charming, smart person - it is Liya Frishman.
She is eighty two years old. Most of her life Liya Semyonovna has devoted to
people, working with them and for them. There is no holiday in Hesed "Polina"
celebrated without her. She constantly keeps up with Israeli and world news.
Her precise mind helps us to understand the events in the motherland anew.
Talented narrator, Liya Frishman always knows what she will tell
the community next time. It seems that her charm attracts new subjects. If Liya
Semyonovna hears a little known or forgotten Jewish name - nothing can stop
her search. Archives, libraries, museums, Embassies, and witnesses open their
doors and hearts before her firm belief that no Jew must be forgotten. She devotes
her poems to each of her "heroes". Liya Frishman has already published
eleven books of poetry.
All her life is search and creation for the sake of the Light and
warmth, for the sake of people on this planet!
