On the last meeting in the Hesed "Polina" Library
Literature Club, a volunteer of the Republican Jewish Library Irena Krichevskaya
presented a new book "Foreign Doctor. American Saga". Its author
is Efim Kilinsky, a Doctor of Medical Science, who moved to the USA in
1974 and started his life and work all over again.
The book "Foreign Doctor. American Saga" was published
in 2001 in New York, and after a year it became popular in Moscow. The
book falls into two parts: Soviet and American periods in life of the
main character Eugenie Krantz, his wife Ludmila and their two sons. Having
appeared in an unfamiliar world of "earning", he overcomes incredible
difficulties and finally gains material welfare.
The narration is vivid and very interesting to read.
It can shake people's ideas of happy life in the West, where
one can work in the Russian manner and earn in the American one.
