Yesterday
rabbi Shmuel Karnauh delivered a lecture "Hanukah Miracle" to
the Pavlodar Jewish community.
15 people of different age gathered in the sitting-room. Rabbi
Shmuel answered their questions and told them about the way Jews celebrate
Hanukah all over the world.
"I
said these words the last year on the threshold of Hanukah",
summarized rabbi Shmuel, "but I want to repeat- today we are responsible
for being Jews more than ever. It is both easy and difficult to be a Jew
in the XXI century. It is easy because we a free to go to a synagogue,
study the Torah and Tradition. It is difficult, because after long years
of prohibition we need to revive our culture in the Diaspora step by step".
The light of Hanukiah will shine in the Pavlodar community
again in ten days. All Jews of the town will gather in the Hesed "Rachel"
to be together on the first festive day as did their forefathers many
centuries ago.
