Last
Friday Shabbat candles were lit for the first time in the only Family
Home in the town of Kapchagay. It is run by Lidiya Piksaeva. 12 community
members living in Kapchagay and Zarechniy village gathered for Kabbalat
Shabbat.
Representatives
of Hesed "Polina": David Sirota (Hesed on Wheels), Galina Lipker
(Club program) and Larissa Chirkina (Mazal Tov) came to the opening of
the Family Home. They brought necessary Jewish attributes: mezuzah, Kiddush
cup, and candlesticks for Shabbat candles.
The
guests told the Family Club members that observing Shabbat rules is a
symbol of the alliance between G-d and the people of Israel.
It reminds us that the Almighty created the world in six days and ceased
working on the seventh one, having consecrated it forever.
All those wise advices and precepts were said on the first
Kabbalat Shabbat in Kapchagay. We believe that the news about the Family
Club being opened will attract other people to the community.
