VOLUNTEERS

On the threshold of a seminar for volunteers planned for early June www.mitsva.kz. starts telling about the VOLUNTARY ASSISTANTS of our community. So, meet the free-will assistants of Hesed "Kostanay"!

ÄÎÁÐÎÂÎËÜÖÛ  "Volunteer" is a French word. The first volunteer in Hesed "Kostanay" was Ninel Berelovitch, a medical woman. She came to help Hesed director Peter Rubinshtein a year ago when he was the only employee.

ÄÎÁÐÎÂÎËÜÖÛ  Alla Gafurova, Lidiya Kazakevitch, and Eugenie Krupko used to help making documents, and compiling lists of Hesed clients. Some of the volunteer entered Hesed staff. Their number is growing. Free-will assistants help to make up food packages, take care of ill clients, work in Hesed library. Male volunteers unload trucks and carry foodstuff upstairs, where they are compiled into food packages.

ÄÎÁÐÎÂÎËÜÖÛ  There is no holiday, literary soiree or women's club meeting held without volunteers. A poet Vladimir Lyahovetsky often speaks at the literature club, Anastasiya Palant plays on holidays. Valentina Marder knows plants well, her lectures and training have success among the members of the women's club.

ÄÎÁÐÎÂÎËÜÖÛ  There are many other people assisting in Hesed. They take part in organization of celebrations, informing local newspapers of the Jewish life, conducting meetings etc. Those who are hard to come use telephone to give advice and consultations.

We love and value each of you, our dear volunteers!

Lidiya Kazakevitch
