 Today
a former Almaty citizen, a sculptor Sergey Lyalin presents his gift to
Kazakhstani Jewry. A bust is delivered to the new director of "Rimon"
JCC Alexandra Zykina in presence of community members.
According to the President of "Mitsva" Association
Alexandr Baron, the gift is going to be the basis of the future Museum
of History of Kazakhstani Jewry.
 The
bust is called "My grandfather". It is symbolical that the first
exhibit is connected with the family, which is of special consideration
in the Jewish Tradition. The gift coincides with a photo-exhibition
"From the Family Album" currently prepared by "Mitsva"
Association. Another symbolical fact is that today Sergey Lyalin is 50
years old.
"I am glad that this very sculpture will remain in
my favorite city, with the people who help the aged, needy, and children!"
said Sergey.
The meeting was prepared and conducted by the old friend of
the Lyalins, the editor-in-chief of the Jewish newspaper
"Davar" Ludmila Varshavskaya.
