 "Women
in Tanah" is a very interesting subject. To find out more about them,
the Hesed "Rachel" women's club has conducted an open meeting
dedicated to Adin Steinzalts's book "Biblical Characters". Not
only women took part in the meeting, but also some of the male community
members.
Female characters are numerous in Tanah. We know some of them
by name, others are nameless. But each of them is a bearer of G-d's will.
 "Rivka's
life was not a personal victory over the surroundings and her origin.
Having escaped from the world of deceit and evil, she always achieved
what she thought was good: nice family, sound future for her Offspring.
Neither the family she grew in, nor her husband wast able to provide that.
Rivka had to determine her generation's destiny and she did, having guessed
G'd's plans". (Adin Steinzalts)
These lines show us a marvelous portrait of Rivka, the
progenitress of Irsael. Rabbi tried to show a real woman, who was unflatteringly
called "an outsider in her family". But something was in her
soul than could not be revealed in her brother Lavan's home. She fully
opened in Yitzhak's home and… won! The woman fulfilled G-d's will!
In the framework of the meeting, the leaders tried to tell
about each of the Torah female characters. Unfortunately, they did not
have enough time for that. But the issue was so absorbing that the women's
club decided to meet again and continue the discussion. Maybe you, dear
