OFEK 2003

The second day of OFEK in Petropavlovsk was opened by "Shalom" vocal band. It sang Jewish songs, and the audience applauded upright.

A lecture about the Jewish calendar was also interesting. It was prepared and presented by Prof. Alexander Nikiforov, a teacher of North-Kazakhstan State University.

Then a dancing studio presented a passionate Chassidic dance. It was followed by a story of a Jewish artist from St-Petersburg Sergey Reichenberg. Due to Stalin's regime he had to move to Kazakhstan. This year the artist celebrates his 90th anniversary. An exhibition of his painitings is going to be presented on the third day of OFEK.

The meeting finished with a bog concert which included performances of "Shalom" vocal band and "Hatihot" children's music studio. Other creative teams of the town also took part in the concert. The guests thanked the organizers and congratulated them with one more successful festival.
