home and Jewish family are the last strongholds of the old Jewish Tradition.
Even modern Jews strange to religion try to keep the peculiarities of the Jewish
hearth. In order to observe and sometimes to revive the tradition the Jewish
community of Ust-Kamenogorsk organizes meetings in the family camp.
So, the regular seminar was organized in "Emerald" rest
home. The subject was six days of creation.
The families (they were six - according to the days of creation)
were given homework - to represent each of the days. Dancing, singing,
verse - everything was used, and the result was a great show.
As these families took part in the camp for the first time, it was
especially important to acquaint and unite the families with the help of psychological
trainings and games. Among them "Coverlet" acquainting game was most
popular.
There were also celebrations of Shabbat, Havdala and reading of
weekly chapter of the Torah. Various winter sports pleasantly supplemented the
study of Traditions.
Time passed very quickly. And returning home the participants felt
grateful and glad to be the members of the big united Jewish family!
