MUTUAL LOVE - YURI SCHNEIDERMAN

"I am glad to welcome all of you here, on the opening of my sixth autumn exhibition in the Hesed "Polina", the painter said. "It is wonderful that the number of visitors is growing every year. I see many familiar faces and I am happy to know that there are still many people who I am going to meet".

The pictures' warmth inspired and united the guests. Schneiderman's admirers, colleagues, friends, and the press came to the opening. About 80 people visited the Hesed's hall during the first hour.

This time the painter presented 50 watercolors, including landscapes, city landscapes, and still life.

"Schneiderman is true to himself!" the elderly members of the community were saying smiling. In spite of the fashion, the painter remained faithful to his first love - watercolor. He even called his first book of poetry "Watercolor and Guitar".

It is significant that being an engineer by profession and painter by vocation, he was one of the founders of an amateur painters' group "Samotsvet" in Almaty. His activities attracted the attention of a national artist Abram Cherkassky. It was he who helped Yuri Schneiderman to start his creative activity in fine arts.

The next year is memorable for the artist. The 23 of February is the day that 40 years ago his paintings were presented to people for the first time. In 1964 his first small exhibition achieved an unexpected success. Today Schneiderman has over six thousand pictures. Many of them are presented in the famous museums and galleries in Kazakhstan, Russia, Israel, Australia, China, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Japan, Turkey, and the USA. And the last week the pictures filled a deserved place on our web site.
