 Summer
is the time of holidays, dreams, and discoveries. Hesed "Shimon" dedicated
these days to working with children. Summer camp was made for the younger generation
of the community. 15 children have been studying and resting there for two weeks.
 Each
of the days was devoted to one of the Jewish holidays. The children read stories,
painted, danced, and sang Jewish songs. Their favourite excursions and tours
began in the afternoon. None of the routes repeated. Hesed "Shimon"
summer camp did not left aside any of the interesting places in Shymkent. For
example, they spent the day devoted to Sukkot in an arboretum. They built and
decorated a hut, and then played various games.
 Sports
contests were arranged in Mashat ravine: the children studied to make fire,
to cook lunch, to climb up the mountains and cross rivers. They bathed, swam,
and tanned in the aqua park; then got acquainted with pictures of local painters
in an exhibition. After each trip the children had to describe their impressions
with the help of crayons and paints. Those who like making articles gathered
leaves, twigs, flowers - everything that would be useful to them.
 The
children are going to present an exhibition of their paintings and articles
in ten days. They have already prepared a sketch "Hanel's Sabbath Dress".
The ceremony of finishing the summer camp was solemn and well prepared. The
children invited their parents - the families thanked the Hesed, the camp
teachers, the cook, and the driver. The summer is not over yet, and we wish
the children new experience!
