 On
May 22 there was a grand opening of Jewish Cultural Welfare Center "Aviv"
in Taldykorgan. Diana Matyshkina was elected as a chairman of this center. A great
responsibility is on her. "Aviv" obviously will be the center of Jewish
life in Taldykorgan and Almaty oblast. It means that the Jewish Cultural Welfare
Center "Aviv" will continue revival of the community.
"We
are very glad that Taldykorgan's Jews made this step", said the president
of "Mitsva" Association Alexander Baron on commencement meeting. Together
with the director of Mobile Hesed program Valery Berkman he visited Taldykorgan
to congratulate the community with that field day.
 "Opening
of the Jewish Cultural Welfare Center "Aviv" became a significant event
not only to community but to Kazakhstan in general", continued Alexander
Baron. "We are developing and reviving the Jewish way of living in our
homes, we are studying to be worthy of memory of our ancestors."
Thus,
one more member added to the big friendly family. But it's not a limit. We look
at the map of our republic and a lot of Jews who are waiting for native traditions
to appear in their towns, villages, and oblasts. Mobile Hesed program continues
its work with the regions.
