  The
Jewish community of Taraz has been celebrating OFEK for two years. One
of the most significant moments of OFEK 2003 was exhibition of children's
literature.
A volunteer of Taraz branch of the Republican Jewish Library
Olga Gogoleva led the children into the miraculous world of the book.
The children were shown "King Solomon's Wisdom" play performed
by JCC members. Young actors surprised the audience with their skill.
During the performance, the guests were asked questions about Jewish history
and Tradition. Those who gave a correct answer received sweet awards.
  Then
puppets taught the children Hebrew alphabet. They presented each letter,
its history, and simple words beginning with it.
Guests from Almaty Hesed "Polina" and local mass
media have also visited the festival. The exhibition became the best present
for the first-formers, who will be able to read the stories they like.
