The Library Literature Club has welcomed guests again. The
topic of the recent meeting was creative activity of a brilliant actor
and a popular singer Mark Bernes.
The visitors were told about the movie soundtracks sang by
Bernes. It turned out that he found a poetical image and topic for a future
song himself.
"He
arranged a song, he gave an idea, a topic, a theme. His orders were almost
ready songs", - his friend Konstantin Vanshenkin told once. "If
it were not him, there would never be such songs as "When a Faraway
Friend Sings", "I Love You Life", "Do the Russians
Want the War?" and many others".
A
composer Yan Frenkel said that "thanks to Mark Bernes the Soviet
classical songs appeared, and they will be inherited by our children and
grandchildren". After a time his words proved to be prophetic.
The memorial soiree was concluded with his last song "Cranes".
