In the framework of the "Famous Jews"
topic, a mini-lecture about the Jews born in November has
been delivered. This time the Library Literature Club discussed:
 Israel
Fisanovitch (Nov. 13, 1915) - a submariner, a Hero
of the Soviet Union. He began his service in the Baltic navy as a submarine
navigator and later became a captain. By the summer 1943 his submarine
had wrecked 13 Fascist's ships, and became the first submarine to go into
an acoustic torpedo attack. Aside from numerous Soviet rewards Israel
Fisanovitch was also awarded with an American order "Sea Cross".
He died 10 months before the Victory (on July 27, 1944) in the course
of navigation from England to Polyarniy port.

Norbert Wiener (Nov. 26, 1896) -
an American mathematician, founder of cybernetics. He is the author of
a famous book "Cybernetics" (published in 1948) which proclaimed
the birth of a new science. While a child he demonstrated exceptional
ability - at the age of 18 he received his PhD in mathematical logics,
and at 38 he became a professor. Wiener published a series of books on
mathematics and computer science. He wrote a scientific bestseller "Cybernetics".
Norbert Wiener received the highest American scientific award.
