JCC women's club has held a meeting dedicated to Rosh-ha-Shannah celebration.
The meeting helped "Edigot" members to find answers for many
questions, such as: why Rosh-ha-Shannah is considered to be the "head"
of the year, what is written in the Torah about it, what customs and practices
are observed that day etc.
To make it easier for the women to get prepared to Rosh-ha-Shannah
and to understand what a festive meal is, the Community Center provided
them with a visual aid - a Rosh-ha-Shannah laid table. At the head of
it was a stuffed fish prepared by one of the club members. Sweet curd
pie was non the less tasty.
After
the preparations the women devoted themselves to their appearance. They
had a massage and make-up; a cosmetologist demonstrated her skill on the
club members' faces.
The meeting ended with learning a new Jewish song. Now "Edigot"
is ready to the New Year both physically and spiritually. So, join us,
dear readers!
