Continuing the theme "Jews in the World Culture",
Taraz branch of the Republican Jewish Library has conducted a meeting
dedicated to Michail Svetlov. Volunteers of the library program told the
audience about his fantastic popularity.
Svetlov's poems brought back the memories of the 60s. The
author of the famous "Grenada" was among his people again. His
poems were recited to the sounds of the international anti-fascists' hymn.
Michail Svetlov (Scheinkman) has never refused from his Jewish
background and his past. He has always been the Jewish poet to the marrow
of his bones.
The meeting finished with his poems, as warm and dear as the
author's eye at the picture.
