 The
personal delegate of British Prime Minister Lord Michael Abraham Levi
has arrived in Kazakhstan. The President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbaev
welcomed him in his Almaty residence. After the meeting Lord Levi visited
the synagogue to have a conversation with the President of Euro-Asian
Jewish Congress and the Jewish Congress of Kazakhstan Alexandr Mashkevitch,
Almaty rabbi Yeshaya Kohen, and the President of "Mitsva" Association
Alexandr Baron. The Jewish leaders told him about the Jewish life in Kazakhstan
and showed the project of a new synagogue being built in Astana.
"I would like to express my admiration for Kazakhstan",
Lord Levi said in his interview to one of Kazakhstani TV channels, "the
state which soon will become the place for meeting of religious representatives
from all over the world".
