On September 28 four generations of Uralsk Jewish community
celebrated Rosh-ha-Shannah.
The director of the Hesed "Golda" congratulated
the guests and wished them a sweet New Year. She also told about Rosh-ha-Shannah
history and practices.
 Children's
"Book Theatre" presented a fancy-dress staging of Jewish fairy-tales.
Then "Adagio" dance group performed freilechs; and Rosalind
Vinnik sang several festive songs in Hebrew. The youngest members of the
community recited poems.
Rosh-ha-Shannah celebration will remain in the Jews' memory
as a merry and bright event. We hope the New Year is going to be the same.
