On
July 22 Hesed "Polina" show-room presented Vladimir Semchuk's
photo-exhibition. The author's friends, colleagues, and the community
came to congratulate him and to have a look at his works. The exposition was
opened by the President of "Mitsva" Association Alexandr Baron.
When
describing Vladimir's previous exhibition, we pointed out, that 95% of the events
in the life of Kazakhstani Jews are revealed in his photos. It was he who told
us about visits of the chief Israeli rabbi Jonah Metzger and the chairman of
WJC Israel Singer to Kazakhstan. His camera also captures unknown but kind and
nice faces.
"Why don't you give names to your exhibitions?" somebody
asked him during the presentation.
"I
don't want to set up any kind of frames. Everybody can invent a name for the
exhibition and become my co-author!"
Besides for photo chronicles of the Jewish community of Kazakhstan,
Vladimir finds time to make albums with landscapes and flowers. Now the walls
of Hesed "Polina" and "Rimon" JCC are covered with poppies,
lilacs and dandelions.
"Every time looking at the picture of a fiery red apple that
Vladimir gave us, I feel a burst of energy", the library coordinator Galina
Korobkina says. "A nice card also helps to attract new clients and inspires
the old ones."
All
visitors of the exhibition note the inner light of Semchuks' photos. They have
their own life, colour, melody, and mood.
The exhibition will last till early autumn, and Almaty citizens
have a chance to get acquainted with the photos. Some of them you see right
now!
