On September 17 Jews of Aktobe celebrated Rosh-Ha-Shannah.

   Before the holiday started, the community members were congratulated by Boris Yurman, a city community chairman; Elena Untenko, "Sara" Hesed director and Yakov Geldish, religious program leader.

   The evening started from Yakov Geldish's blowing into shafar. As he had said: "Let these days to be the day of optimism and confidence in God's acception of our repentance and we do hope that He would prolong our life inna good and sweet New year. And we would become better and more kind to each other".

  "Atikva" chorus and "Hava Nagiva" dance group gladdened the auditorium with its performance during holiday meeting.

   Traditional apples, honey and fish head were put on holiday table.
