JDC
Russian department workers dealing with youth problems met with Almaty
community members at the age of 23-35, in the framework of JDC representatives'
visit to the Republic.
In the course of the discussion were raised questions of
youth involvement in the Jewish life and the role of young generation
in the development process of the community. Guests - Boris
Boguslavskiy, a JDC worker; Ehud Peleg, Young Leadership Development Consultant
of CIS department and Max Wiesel, a JDC coordinator in Central Asia and
the Caucasus - focused the attention of the auditorium on the
fact that they came to Kazakhstan not as a checking side, but as people
who want to take a look on the community life from the inside and to help
the communities renewed after the collapse of the Soviet Union to look
in future with confidence.
"Exactly from you, young leaders, depend what will be
the tomorrow day of the community", JDC representatives explained
the aim of their visit. "Your outlook, system of values, desire to
achieve a success and your talent will become the basis of the development
process of Jewish organizations, which are able to give the Diaspora a
feeling of confidence".
JDC workers told the young leaders about the importance of
lobbying and fund raising in the development process of Jewish communities
in our days. They also offered to share the JDC experience in a work with
organizations-donors.
