 Almaty
Jewish Library held for its visitors a recital with a Snt-Petersburg poet
Florina Maevskaya. Florina Abramovna started to write her poems eight
years ago. Having survived in a Leningrad blockade and later working in
geological expeditions, including in the Far North for many years, the
woman could find strength and desire to tell the world about her impressions
and thoughts.
In the last years a collection of her poems called "Leningrad"
was put to music by composers, Florina's comrades. Among the most famous
works by Maevskaya are poems from the collection "Compose music and
sing!". Listeners especially liked poems, devoted to a new century
in accordance with a famous saying "Oh, if only youth knew".
Works of the poet couldn't leave indifferent Jewish community
of Almaty. Members of "Retro" vocal instrumental group, successfully
working in a city Hesed, decided to fill its repertoire with songs, put
on poems by Florina Abramovna.
