"Every work has its soul, through which one can see
the author's soul".
Personal exhibition of Jewish artist Rasim Michaeli called
"On the other side of horizont" was held in Almaty Modern Art
Gallery "Tengry-Umai". On October 11 the artist met with Jews
from Kazakhstan and conducted a 2hour recital for community members.
"Life is an emotional sphere", Rasim told.
"For me each picture is a bright spontaneous expression of my
emotions and impressions. My creative process is based on intuition. I'm
fond of observing life and people - it's extremely interesting. I understand
that I have something to say through my picture. The main thing in my
work is a feeling that leads us, leads our life …"
The exhibition represented paintings and graphics of Rasim
Michaeli. Subjects of paintings of Rasim are full of life and reality,
they are - women's portraits, landscapes, still life. They are often combined
with abstract compositions. It seems that each work contains two reflections
- of reality and a reflection of emotions and feelings.
Starting to work from "a simple spot", trying to render
his feelings, the artist continues drawing with the using of real forms
and examples of professional classical painting. The artist often uses experimental
painting techniques.
In his paintings Rasim uses a combination of various materials
such as acryl, watercolors, oil as well as colors prepared by the artist
himself, using different pigments. I would especially mark a number of
graphic drawings called "Jewish marriage". It is full of vivid
details and painted in classical technique - paper, coal.
