A
literature meeting has been held in the "Shalom" family club.
This time it was devoted to Holocaust. The meeting was conducted by the
republican Jewish Library volunteers Lubov Koretskaya and Svetlana Nezhinskaya.
Their story was based on two books by Yakov Schepetinsky "Prigovor"
("Verdict") and Mikhail Spivak "Cherez Ghetto, GULAG and
Halut" ("Through Ghetto, GULAG and Halut". "Even the
hardest ordeals did not break the Jews" - this idea was
the basic concept of both books.
The second part of the meeting was devoted to Alex Reznikov's
book "Klady Yerusalima" ("Jerusalem's Treasures").
The topic was connected with the story of Holocaust - it touched
upon the main museum of Israel.
One of museum issues was concerned with returning pictures
confiscate by Hitlerites from Jewish collectors. Svetlana Nezhinskaya
told about the collectors murdered during Holocaust and the museum memorial
opened in their memory.
Volunteer's story was of great interest for the family club
members.
