"Outskirts" - that's the name of a project created by Almaty artists, was devoted to the memory of Iosif Brodskiy. The first event, opening the year of 65th anniversary of the poet, became an exhibition of works of Almaty artists. The exhibition was held at "Voyager" gallery.

   The admirers of Brodskiy's talent could enjoy ceramics, graphical works that became an illustration of the poet's oeuvre. Among the artists, that represented their works before the comers were such familiar to Kazakhstani people names as Aleksandr Lvovitch, Yuliya Minko, Elena and Vladimir Grigoryan, Rustam Halfin, Elvira Garnisheva.

   It's a significant fact that exhibition's organizers were people of different nationalities united by love to poems of Iosif Brodskiy. On the question why the exhibition was called exactly "Outskirts", the artists answered in the following way:

   "Brodskiy considers that the most interesting things happen in the outskirts, but not in the center of empire!"
